COVID UPDATE

Dear members of the communities of faith at Seagrave and Greenbank United Church,

The executives of the Official Board, along with the chairs of the Session, Stewards and the M & P, have met virtually to discuss and put together a plan to resume face to face worship in our sanctuaries.  We do not have a set date for when this will take place.  We are closely monitoring the situation.  It is mandated that we must have a plan and a set of protocols in place when we resume in-person worship.

The health and safety of all our members is of the upmost importance.  Jesus calls us to love our neighbour and in this current COVID situation keeping everyone safe is one of the best ways we can do this.

We look forward to being able to worship together and are working on making it the best experience possible with the mandated guidelines and protocols.

The following guidelines and protocols will be put in place:

1.    Masks must be worn in the church building by all.

2.    Sanitizer will be available upon entry, exit and in washrooms.

3.    Names and phone numbers of all entering will be recorded.

4.    Physical distancing must be maintained at all times.

5.    There will be no live choir or congregational singing during the service.

6.    Signage will be up with self screening questions re: COVID 19 risks prior to entrance.

7.    No socializing in the building or on church property.

8.    Trained monitors will be in place to ensure protocols are in place and followed to ensure the safety of all.

9.    Children are welcome, but there will be no separate Sunday School program.  There will be the usual Children’s Time as part of the service.

10.    The service length will be shortened to approximately 30 minutes.

11.    Our offerings will not be officially gathered, but accepted in offering plates at the back of the sanctuary, brought forward and dedicated.

12.    Hymn Books, Bibles and bulletins will not be available.

13.    The church will be sanitized after each use.

14.    There will not be a ‘coffee time’ after the service.

15.    We will adhere to the 30% capacity rules or whatever each church’s  seating will accommodate with the 6′ distancing rule.

16.    All announcements will be shared via minister Stephanie.

With these items in place we have strived to follow the rules set in place by Government of Ontario’s guidelines for the safety and well being of all.

Thank you,

Your Executives
